We love a morning wedding. It’s a bit unconventional, but if you adore brunch foods and a mimosa with your meal, we think it’s the perfect time of day. It’s also helpful if you want to have a separate nighttime affair that doesn’t involve children or older family members that may not be interested. Still, we’ve never heard of a wedding as early as Dwayne Johnson’s.
On August 18 — Johnson married his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Hashian in a stunning ceremony in Hawaii. Though the Jumanji: The Next Level actor is one of the biggest superstars in the world — the wedding was intimate and quite unconventional.
In fact, Johnson was already wed before most people got up and had their morning coffee.
This is why it took Dwayne Johnson 11 years to marry Lauren Hashian
Since Johnson and Hashian have been dating since 2008 and they have two young daughters together, many of us just assumed that they weren’t interested in the institution of marriage. As it turns out, Johnson had some reservations that stemmed from his past marriage and divorce.
Though he and his ex-wife, Dany Garcia are on great terms, their divorce in 2007 took a toll on Johnson. “There was just some hesitancy,” he explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “[But] Lauren was incredibly patient. [She would say], I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together — no [pressure].” Whew, that’s a ton of patience.
Inside Dwayne Johnson and Lauren Hashian’s ultra-private wedding
Not only is Johnson a megastar, he’s very well-liked in the industry. If he wanted to, we’re sure he and Hashian could have had a massive blowout wedding with hundreds of guests. However, they decided to go into a very different direction.
“It was truly a magical, magical wedding,” Johnson explained to DeGeneres. Also since the wedding was so early in the morning, it “very private,” “It was the best,” the Fast and Furious star admitted. “It truly was.” The best part was that Johnson and Hashian’s young daughters, 3 -year-old Jasmine and 1-year-old Tiana served as their flower girls.
The couple also made sure to keep their wedding and its details super secret until after the big day was over. Some other celebs who value their privacy should take note.
This is why Dwayne Johnson and Lauren Hashian had a 7:45 a.m. wedding
Since their big day was so intimate, Johnson and Hashian wanted to make sure they spent the majority of the day just enjoying one another, not stressing over what was to come.
“We wanted to have an early morning wedding,” Johnson revealed. “That way, we said the vows, got it over with, and then by 10 or 11 o’clock, we were hanging and having brunch with the family. We had it done.”
Anything before 10 a.m. is just a tad too early for us, but we love the idea of an early morning wedding. We also truly loved the idea that Johnson and Hashian had their wedding day on their own terms without the hoopla of the media or the paparazzi.
