The Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex, royal brothers William and Harry, are denying that there is any beef between them…and they are upset enough at the media reports, they’ve issued a strongly worded denial.
In the statement, William and Harry’s representatives said — “Despite clear denials, a false story ran in a UK newspaper today speculating about the relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge. For brothers who care so deeply about the issues surrounding mental health, the use of inflammatory language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful.”
We Have No Beef!
The statement does not specify which exact story they are upset with but several stories have surfaced in the last few days about why Harry and Meghan decided to step down from their royal duties.
One of the commonly reported issues is William not fully excepting Meghan into the Royal family, and “bullying” his brother into having to step down from his duties and protect his wife.
In one UK newspaper report, sources told The UK Times, William was “insufficiently welcoming to Meghan when she first started dating Harry.” The report claims that the result of the beef is a “competitive” nature between the brothers.
Media Making Up False Narratives
In the last several months, several reports have surfaced about a rift between the brothers. The public believed Harry seemed to confirm the speculation in an interview during an ITV documentary where he said the brothers were on “different paths”.
The strong denial came as the Queen of England called a summit meeting with their father Charles to discuss the Harry and Meghan situation.
Bottom Line: The Princes say there is no beef, and it’s the media making up false narratives.
As we reported, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they would be stepping down from their royal duties, saying they will live in North America part of the time and will be financially independent.
Harry And Meghan Taking Step Back
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year is starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.” the couple said.
We Will Be Financially Independent
They continued, “We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.”
