Paris Hilton Snubbed By ‘The Hills’ For Her Sister Nicky?
Paris Hilton is “burning mad” after the The Hills: New Beginnings snubbed her for her sister, Nicky Hilton? That’s the silly rumor in one tabloid. Gossip Cop found the story to be totally false.
“Paris is burning!” proclaims the latest issue of the National Enquirer. The tabloid seems to have come up with that headline before the rest of the piece, which claims the producers of The Hills: New Beginnings, a reboot of the early 2000s reality show, are trying to get Nicky to join the cast. The only problem, the outlet says, is that the producers are doing their best to avoid Paris.
“Nicky’s the big fish they want and Paris is being left out in the cold,” a supposed source tells the publication. Apparently, say “insiders,” Nicky comes with “less baggage” and “is tighter with the cast,” which includes Brody Jenner and Audrina Patridge. “Nicky’s been a fixture on the cast’s social circles for years and people behind the scenes believe she’d be a perfect fit,” the alleged source says.
In reality, however, the outlet could not have been more wrong. In a June interview with Us Weekly, Kathy Hilton, Paris and Nicky’s mother, explained at the show’s premiere that the Hilton sisters and their brother Barron had all been asked to appear on the show. “They were asked,” Kathy said, “but they’re busy with so many things right now.” Further debunking the Enquirer’s nonsensical story, she went on to specify Nicky’s disinterest in joining the show. “Nicky is designing and busy,” she said. “Nicky would not ever go on a reality show.”
Paris is one of the biggest pop culture figures of the 2000s, so it’s not surprising that the tabloid is trying to connect her to another cultural icon from that period. This isn’t even the first rumor to emerge about the reboot of the classic reality show. In the beginning of September, Gossip Cop debunked a piece from Star, a sister publication of the Enquirer, that claimed Miley Cyrus would be joining Kaitlynn Carter for the second season of the show.
This also isn’t the first time Hilton has appeared in the tabloids this year, unsurprisingly. RadarOnline, the Enquirer’s sister site, published a ridiculous story about Paris “begging” Kris Jenner for a contract to be on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Gossip Cop called out the publication immediately. We also busted OK!, yet another sister outlet, for its bogus claims about Hilton seeking dating advice from Kim Kardashian. The gossip media seems to be totally off base yet again regarding the socialite.
