Perry’s birthday comes just days after the premiere of “Riverdale” Season 4 titled, “In Memoriam.”
In the season opener, they finally revealed what happened to Luke Perry’s character, Fred Andrews.
When he passed away in March, they were in the middle of shooting Season 3.
As The Blast reported, Wednesday’s episode revealed Fred was the victim of a hit and run.
His former co-star Shannen Doherty guest-starred in the episode. She played the woman Fred stopped to help after her car broke down.
She revealed he was assisting her when another car came speeding around the corner. She said she froze and Fred pushed her out of the way, sacrificing his life for hers.
