Harry Potter Fans Descend On King’s Cross to Celebrate ‘Back to Hogwarts’

Thousands of witches and wizards showed up to King’s Cross Station in London to celebrate the annual return to Hogwarts … and they all knew exactly which platform to head for.

In the fantastic world of magic created by J.K. Rowling, September 1 marks the day Harry Potter yearned for every year, the return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The pilgrimage to the famous train station, and platform 9 3/4, has become so beloved by Potter fans, that it has become celebrated in the muggle world.

On Sunday, thousands of fans lined the streets dressed in their Hogwarts outfits of robes, wands at the ready, as they counted down the time to board the Hogwarts Express.

The actual train station also embraced the occasion, and displayed the famous train’s route on the legitimate departure’s board, reading, “Edinburgh via Hogsmeade.”

Of course, it was listed for an 11 AM departure … exactly as it is in the book.

For those unable to catch the train, someone was kind enough to construct a replica of the famed Flying Ford Anglia out of Lego bricks.

The car was featured in the Potter universe when Ron and the Weasley twins rescued Harry from his Aunt & Uncle’s house … and also when Harry and Ron missed the train to Hogwarts because Dobby sealed up platform 9 3/4.

The station actually does feature a platform 9 3/4, which has become a staple IG photo for any Potter fan traveling through London.

Last year on “Back to Hogwarts” day, fans were surprised by actors Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law, who were doing promotion for their movie, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” at the time.

Have a safe trip back to Hogwarts … and make sure to stock up from the Honeydukes Express!
