Rebecca Parrot and Zied Hakimi have been an interesting couple to watch develop over the course of their 90 Day Fiancé adventure. Parrott originally caught flak from fans for using filters to change her appearance when sending Zied photos and videos — flak that she met with humor.
However, her photo filters weren’t the only secrets she was keeping from Zied. And now, there have been allegations that Zied has been abusive, and Parrott wants to clear the air.
Still married, with a second secret
Rebecca Parrott eventually had to reveal to Zied Hakimi that, despite the two of them getting intimate, she was actually still married — to a Moroccan man that she brought to the U.S. For Hakimi, the shocking revelation probably set off some red flags, since it’s a situation uniquely similar to his own.
Parrott previously told Inquisitr, “Zied’s young, but this guy was a little bit younger. I know of knew that I was probably making a mistake doing this, but I still tried really hard. When I brought him over here, he instantly just became a different person. He was a very bad person.”
Parrott eventually discovered her ex-husband had been cheating on her. She went on to say of her relationship with Hakimi, “He’s completely different. With my ex, I was very skeptical and very on edge. It was never ‘Oh my god, you’re the love of my life.’ The only reason that I am taking the opportunity to do this and go through that potential heartbreak again is because I legitimately feel a connection.”
However, her marriage to another man wasn’t Parrott’s only secret. She also admitted to ZHakimi that she’d previously had a relationship with another woman — something she was afraid Hakimi wouldn’t be able to accept, given his religious background.
Hakimi, however, was able to move on from the revelation.
The outfit incident
Things got a little hairy between Zied Hakimi and Rebecca Parrott during a recent 90 Day Fiancé episode. Parrott went out wearing clothing that Hakimi deemed inappropriate for his country and customs, and Parrott wasn’t happy about that.

I need to make something VERY CLEAR. Zied has NEVER been abusive. Zied would NEVER be abusive. This is dangerous to make light of and it needs to stop now. I understand that the preview was misleading. However the scene in its full entirety was very clear! Zied was apologizing to me and I was the one who pulled away from him. I was angry, not Zied. As an abuse survivor in previous relationships, I would never allow this, and would never make excuses for it. In addition, TLC and Sharp Entertainment would not only not have allowed it, but would not have aired it. It is dangerous to make accusations like this, and make it look like I’m making excuses. As there are women watching in actually dangerous relationships that think if I’m staying with this man, it’s okay for them to. It is never okay to be in any relationship that is even slightly abusive. Reality tv likes to create drama, and did that with the preview. The scene in its entirety, clearly shows Zied was not being abusive in ANY way. Be responsible with your accusations. #domesticabuseisnotokay . . . . . #90dayfiance #beforethe90days #90dayfiancememes #realitytv #TLC #beforethe90daysfiance #90dayfiancebeforethe90days #rebeccaandzied #90df #pillowtalk #pillowtalkbeforethe90days
Parott took Hakimi’s comment rather seriously, because her ex had been particularly controlling. She posted a video to Instagram explaining what went down, and saying she felt as if she had perhaps disrespected Hakimi.
“To clarify a little…. please understand that I know I was wrong for what I did. Zied never told me what to wear in all the time we were together before this. And my ex was very controlling. So I reacted very badly. I respect him and his culture and I made a bad decision. Keep watching,” said Parrott.
She went on to add, “I should have respected what Zied told me,” she added in the video. “There’s a lot that you don’t see that went into that scene, but let me explain a little bit so I don’t get quite as much hate for this… It was a bad reaction on my part and I should not have argued the way that I did.”
Reaction to abuse allegations
Zied Hakimi also got a little heated with Rebecca Parrott when he discovered that the 90 Day Fiancé star had pictures of her ex on her phone still. Some fans viewing the episode believed that certain of Hakimi’s behaviors suggested abusive tendencies.
Parrott, however, wanted to clear the air on the subject. Parrott captioned a video about the subject on Instagram, “I need to make something VERY CLEAR. Zied has NEVER been abusive. Zied would NEVER be abusive. This is dangerous to make light of and it needs to stop now. I understand that the preview was misleading. However the scene in its full entirety was very clear! Zied was apologizing to me and I was the one who pulled away from him. I was angry, not Zied.”
She went on to write, in part, “As an abuse survivor in previous relationships, I would never allow this, and would never make excuses for it. In addition, TLC and Sharp Entertainment would not only not have allowed it, but would not have aired it. It is dangerous to make accusations like this, and make it look like I’m making excuses.”
Parrott additionally urged fans to be more responsible with their accusations of abuse in the future.
